About your teacher:

My name is Mrs. Maggie Walker, and I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 20 years and a licensed educator for 14 years. I am a graduate of Wren High School and ASD1 Career & Technology Center. I also hold a business degree from Greenville Technical College. During my time in the industry I have earned numerous certifications with brands such as: Redken, Joico, American Crew, ProsperU, and several leadership programs. I also had the pleasure of being published in an article with Milady Training, on the topic of "Inclusivity & Diversity in the Beauty Industry: How to Support Efforts Year Round".

 

In Cosmetology 1 & 2 students will learn the foundational theory and practical skills needed in all areas of hair, skin, and nails. In Cosmetology 3 students will learn more advanced hands-on skills for hair, skin, and nails. In Cosmetology 4 students will learn state board prep for their written and practical testing to become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of SC. 

 

I absolutely love sharing my knowledge with students and watching each student grow in their skills and abilities. In the beauty industry you never stop learning. My goal is to be a stepping stone in each students education to ensure employability, basic skills, and career readiness.
